The time required to restore pre-exercise autonomic nervous system function depends on both the level of exercise you engage in and the amount of psychological stress you experience. Factors such as high-intensity exercise, exercise duration, poor sleep, inadequate nutrition, and work stress stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, negatively affecting recovery. Central Nervous System (CNS) Readiness:
Both the CNS Readiness and DC-Potential indexes are plotted on intuitive graphs, allowing you to track your athletes’ level of activation and monitor the effects of environmental stressors and training loads on each individual’s central nervous system. Cardiac System Readiness via Heart Rate Variability:
Based on Heart Rate Variability (HRV), the Cardiac Readiness score reveals how effectively your body has recovered from previous training or stress. It assesses the regulation of cardiac function by the sympathetic (“Fight or Flight”) and parasympathetic (“Rest & Digest”) branches of your autonomic nervous system. For instance, exercise is a form of stress for the body, and physiological markers measurable by the Omegawave can indicate this. High-intensity training triggers substantial stress hormone release. Excessive amounts of these stress hormones can have adverse effects, which can also be identified through the Omegawave. This output measure guides clinicians in providing targeted treatment interventions to support autonomic nervous system regulation and streamline recovery. This is just one application of the Omegawave.
Energy Supply System:
Monitor how your athletes’ aerobic and anaerobic energy systems react to training and recovery. Omegawave's proprietary algorithm closely examines the electrical changes at the QRS and ST segments of the ECG.
