Dr. Capitano offers a variety of athletic screening examinations to identify weaknesses, tightness, or biomechanical issues. He subscribes to a movement-based approach inspired by the works of Dr. Vladmir Janda, Dr. Craig Liebenson, Dr. Stuart McGill, Dr. Charlie Weingroff, and Gray Cook. Utilizing principles from the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Functional Range Systems (FRS), and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), he applies sound evidence-based rehabilitation and training science for effective results.
Dr. Capitano is formally trained and/or certified in several paradigms including DNS, ART, Graston, Acupuncture, Dry Needling, TPI, FRC, FRR, FMS/SFMA, RPR, and HKC. This diverse expertise allows him to pinpoint mechanical issues in athletes, thereby aiding in injury prevention.
Each examination lasts one hour. After the athletic screening, Dr. Capitano provides the athlete with a detailed summary and exercises designed to address specific biomechanical issues and implement preventative measures.
He has successfully worked with athletes at all levels, from amateurs to professionals, with a focus on maintaining their health and keeping them injury-free.
